Willi Geller, Oral Design Switzerland
Willi Geller is one of the best known dental technicians in the world and is considered by many to be the ultimate ceramist. Through the years, Mr. Geller has lectured and demonstrated his skills around the globe. Amongst the many people personally benefiting from his artistic talents has been well known public figures, including celebrities. Among his many notable accomplishments in the field of dentistry was his creation of Oral Design. The organization comprised of a group of hand-picked technicians dedicated to the art of restorative dentistry, conduct educational events and hands-on courses internationally. Mr. Geller was also instrumental in the development of the renowned Willi Geller Creation porcelain system. Mr. Geller currently resides in Zurich, Switzerland.
Dr. Giuseppe Allais, DDS, Italy
Dr. Allais began with his Dental Technician diploma in 1978 and went on to earn his doctors degree in dentistry in 1984 at the University of Turin in Italy. Over the years, he has worked as an assistant professor in The Department of Restorative Dentistry at The University of Turin and the departments of Masticatory Disorders and Restorative Dentistry at the University of Zurich in Switzerland. Dr. Allias currently operates his private practice in Turin, Italy.
Jean Marc Etienne, Oral Design France
An enthusiastic defender of high quality, Jean Marc Etienne is well recognized in the world of dental technicians. Born in France in 1964, he first graduated in mechanical engineering. He then orientated himself towards dental technology. He found himself attracted to dental prosthetics and in 1985 earned his master’s degree in Dental Technologies at the National Institute of Metz, one of the best French schools in this specialty. He is a member of the Oral Design International group since 1989 and shares with Willi Geller and friends an unusual philosophy on customized aesthetics. For the past 16 years, Jean Marc Etienne transmits his ideas and his know-how giving lectures and courses in Europe, United States and Austria. He runs the Ceralor Laboratory, the Oral Design Centre, located In Nancy, France, which specializes in fixed and implanted aesthetic dentistry.
Peter Vryonis, Oral Design Australia
Peter initially trained as a dental technician in Greece and completed his studies in Australia. He established his own Melbourne based laboratory, Peter Vryonis (Vic) Pty Ltd in 1967. Over the years he has contributed in many ways to the quality and advancement of dental restorations and has pioneered a number of new techniques for the improvement of dentistry worldwide. Peter developed the complete porcelain margin technique, which is now universally accepted and utilized. He also pioneered the idea of custom-built shade guides and porcelain slivers to enable a better understanding of color selection in ceramics. He has completed development of a new technique for custom made abutments known as the CDI Abutment/ Overcoping Technique, which is now a successful implant manufacturing business. Peter has lectured extensively throughout the world, in particular the USA, Latin America, Europe, Japan and Australia. His laboratory is one of the Oral Design Centers located in Melbourne, Australia.
Eric van der Winden, Oral Design Netherlands
Mr. Van der Winden has been a dental technician since 1979. Graduated as best student: “van Hamond prijs” 1985. He has been a member of the Oral Design International Group since 1996 and is co-founder of the Oral Design Center Holland since 2001. His laboratory located in Blaricum is also well known as a training facility. Mr. van der Winden is an international lecturer, giving courses and presentations since 1989. His lectures give a global view of restorative concepts and procedures with many different ceramic materials. Eric’s concept is based on working directly with patients to achieve high levels of aesthetic excellence.
Sascha Hein, MDT, Oral Design Australia
Sascha Hein completed his undergraduate training at the Technical College II in Munich, Germany. He later worked in several countries including, Germany, Italy, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates. In 2000 he completed the Senior Dental Technician training at the Kuwata College at Itabashi, Tokyo. In 2004/05, he attended master school in Freiburg, Germany and graduated as top of class and state. In 2006 he scored the second place at the annual Kanter Award Competition, which premiers the top three master school students of each year in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. In 2007 he was inducted into Willi Geller’s Oral Design group. Sascha Hein maintains a small laboratory in Perth, Western Australia, specializing on fixed ceramic restorations.
Juergen Mehrhof, MDT, Oral Design Germany
\Juergen Mehrhof completed his dental technician training in Speyer am Rhein, earning his Masters Degree in 1996 in Berlin, Germany. In 1993 he made his first contact with complex implant supported restorations in Honolulu, Hawaii. Since 1995 Mr. Mehrohof operates his own dental laboratory in Berlin, which is becoming a center of exchange and education with emphasis on new concepts in the world of dental techniques. Major specialties comprise of function, all ceramic restorations and implant supported superstructures in close cooperation with the patient and dentist considering aesthetic aspects. He has created a concept to rehabilitate patients showing hard and soft tissue deficiencies with a fixed implant-supported superstructure (PBLG-Structure). Mr. Mehrohof has been a member of the Oral Design Team since 2003 and a founding member of “Dental Excellence-International Laboratory Group”. He lectures and writes publications nationally and internationally since 1999.
